Here I want to tell you about myself and my work.

My name is Viktor Nikolaevich Yushkevich. I was born in 1961 in Pinsk, Belarus, surrounded by rivers, forests, and the quiet landscapes that would later become the main source of inspiration throughout my life.

I came to painting at the age of twenty. For more than forty years since then, landscape art has been at the center of my creative journey. For me, a landscape is never just a depiction of nature. It is a way of preserving those fleeting moments of harmony that often pass unnoticed in everyday life.

In every scene I paint, I search for more than a beautiful view. I am drawn to the mood of a place—its silence, its light, its atmosphere. Whether it is the freshness of the morning air, the calm after rain, or the warmth of the evening sun, I strive to capture not only what nature looks like, but what it feels like. Light, composition, color, and detail become the language through which I tell these stories.

My artistic approach is rooted in realism with elements of naturalism. Through careful observation and craftsmanship, I seek to create paintings that invite the viewer to step into the landscape, experience its atmosphere, and connect with the emotion of the moment.

Over the years, my works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Belarus and internationally, including Russia, the United States, Israel, and China. Today, my paintings are held in private collections around the world, and some are part of the official residences of the Republic of Belarus.

Beyond painting, I am passionate about sharing knowledge and encouraging others in their creative pursuits. Through my YouTube channel, Y.V.N. Art, I share my artistic process, techniques, and experience with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. I believe that art grows stronger when it is shared, taught, and passed on to new generations.

For me, art is a way of preserving the beauty of nature and reminding us of our connection to it. Every painting is an invitation to pause, to look more closely, and to discover harmony in the world around us. My goal is not only to portray a place, but to leave the viewer with a feeling—an experience that lingers long after the image is seen.
